Hinges, rollers, wheels, track, alignment, mounting points and the gate structure itself.
Observe First. Keep Clear of Moving Equipment.
Routine maintenance can help you spot developing problems, but an automatic gate is still a large powered moving system. Inspection should never put you inside the gate's travel path or near moving chains, rollers, hinges, gears or actuators.
- Keep people, children, pets and vehicles clear while testing the gate.
- Never stand between a moving gate and a fixed object.
- Do not permanently bypass photo eyes, safety edges or other safety devices.
- Do not reach into moving chains, gears, rollers or actuators.
- Turn power off before performing work that requires access to moving or electrical components.
- If the gate is damaged, hanging, off track or moving unpredictably, stop using it and have it inspected.
